Why Is There a SWAT Team at Clifton Middle School?

The Foothill Special Enforcement Team is giving a live demonstration at the school Thursday morning.

Rarely is it comforting to hear that a SWAT team, paramedics and police helicopter have shown up at your child's school, but there's no reason to worry about the emergency personnel congregating at Thursday morning.

The Foothill Special Enforcement Team (F-SET) is on hand for a live demonstration of police tactics and procedures for critical incidents at schools and other public venues.

F-SET is comprised of "carefully selected and trained personnel who have appropriate tools and tactics to handle many different high-risk situations" from Monrovia, Glendora, Irwindale, La Verne and San Marino, according to the La Verne Police Department.
