Woman's Body Discovered in Car at Azusa Tow Yard

After picking up an abandoned car, a tow truck driver made a gruesome discovery inside.

An investigation was underway today into the death of a woman whose body was found inside the trunk of a car that had been hauled to a tow yard in Azusa.

The body was found at 5:18 p.m. Tuesday in a tow yard in the 1000 block of West Gladstone Street, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

A witness noticed a red Honda Accord parked on his property in the 3700 block of Fish Canyon Road in Azusa early Tuesday morning and summoned a local tow yard, according to the sheriff's department.

The tow truck driver found the body after he brought the car to the yard, according to deputies, who said the Los Angeles County coroner's office will positively identify the woman and conduct an autopsy.

The woman's death is being investigated by sheriff's homicide detectives and the Azusa Police Department. Anyone with information about the case was urged to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
