City Manager: Monrovia Will Honor Olympic Gold Medalist

In her weekly report, City Manager Laurie Lile congratulated Monrovia's Kim Rhode for winning a gold medal at the Olympics games and said the city will honor her when she returns from London.

From the City Manager's weekly report:

Congratulations Kim Rhode! Monrovia resident, Kim Rhode, won an Olympic gold medal in Women’s Skeet Shooting last Friday, making her the first American to win a medal in five consecutive Olympic Games.

It’s an amazing feat that is a testament to dedication, focus and commitment.  Kim has many San Gabriel Valley ties: she graduated from Cal Poly Pomona and has lived in Whittier and El Monte. However, she now has made Monrovia her home and we are extremely proud to salute her. The City will be acknowledging Kim after she returns from London.
