City's Holiday Decorating Contest Underway

The city will be handing out awards in 13 different categories for the best holiday home decorations.

Residents have until Friday to submit their applications for the city's , which will award prizes in 13 different festive categories.

Judging will take place on Dec. 19 at 5 p.m. and winners will receive a decorative yard sign and be recognized at a City Council meeting on Dec. 20.

And don't forget to enter your home in Patch's decorating contest for a chance to win the Monrovia Unified School District $100,000!

The categories for Monrovia's contest this year are:

  • Best Still Display
  • Best Outdoor Display
  • Best Window Display
  • Most Effective Use of House Lighting
  • Best Decorated Outdoor Tree
  • Best Neighborhood Effort
  • Monrovia Area Partnership Festivities Award
  • Snowman's Award
  • Children's Choice Award
  • Toyland Award
  • Holiday Spirit Award
  • Judge's Award
  • Tim McKeehan 'Best of Season' Award

Applications are available on the city's website and must be submitted by noon Friday.
