The Rail~Volution conference in Los Angeles will address the planned development along the Gold Line Foothill Extension during the second day of the three-day symposium on Sunday.
Rail~Volution, an annual transit conference that brings "citizen activists, developers, business leaders, planners, local elected officials, transit operators, [and] government officials" together to discuss transit projects around the country, will consider future Gold Line development in a mobile workshop titled "There's Gold in Them Thar (Foot) Hills" on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.
"Already...plans and projects are being developed to maximize synergies between the extension and surrounding communities," the conference's calendar reads.
The cost to attend the workshop is $45.
City planners from Monrovia and Azusa will explain future development plans along the extension. The future of Monrovia's largest planned Gold Line project, the Station Square Transit Village, came into question when its developer sued the city in a $106 million breach of contract lawsuit last month.
