Live Entertainment Approved at Aztec Hotel's New Restaurant

The new Mexican restaurant opening in the old Brass Elephant location will be allowed to have live entertainment on a limited basis.

A new restaurant attached to the Aztec Hotel was granted a permit last week to hold live entertainment on a limited basis, according to Monrovia's Development Spotlight blog.

The Planning Commission approved the conditional use permit at its Dec. 12 meeting. The restaurant will be able to host live entertainment one weekend per month--On Friday and Saturday--until 11 p.m. and every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Residents living nearby called for restrictions to live music at the venue because of past noise issues with the Brass Elephant bar, the space's former occupant.

If you don't like noise don't live by a bar. Plain and simple. Don't like idiots peeing in the street and in people's yards? Allow permit parking only for residents on Melrose and vigorously enforce it. Spend your time keeping the assholes off of Melrose instead of bothering the Brass.

At least that evil conniving Kathie Reece-McNeill is no longer allowed on property.

If you follow their facebook updates it seems most neighbors are very happy with their changes and all they are doing to improve the location (including tearing down trashy storage sheds, being considerate of borders with their neighbors, etc.). By all I can see on their updates - they are doing it right. I can't wait until they open!
