Mayflower Avenue Reopens Today, Shuttle Service Ends

Mayflower Avenue closed in late September for construction related to the Metro Gold Line project.

Mayflower Avenue will reopen fully to thru-traffic this evening, according to the Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority.

The street and sidewalks were closed in late September as part of the construction of the Metro Gold Line light rail project.

Crews are done with grade crossing improvements between Evergreen Avenue and Duarte Road ahead of schedule, according to officials. The full closure of Mayflower Avenue was needed for the required work.

No additional closures are expected, but future construction in the area might require occasional lane closures, officials said.

The pedestrian shuttle service that was used to help pedestrians get around the closure during construction ends after today's work is done and the street and sidewalks reopen.
