Monrovia Florist Named Portantino's Small Business of the Year

Monrovia Floral has been named Assemblyman Anthony Portantino's "Small Business of the Year."

Assemblyman Anthony Portantino (D-La Canada Flintridge) named his "Small Business of the Year" Wednesday, recognizing owner Gloria Huss for her contributions to the local business community.

"I am pleased to recognize Gloria Huss for her dedication and hard work in Monrovia and the San Gabriel Valley," Portantino said in a written statement. "Gloria is a success not only because of her business acumen, but because she gives back to the community through the countless hours she contributes to the and the Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte Town Council."

Huss will travel to Sacramento next week to accept the award in a ceremony at the state capitol.She was chosen because of her many ties to the local business community, including her work with the Chamber and leadership position with the MAD Town Council, according to a news release. She also volunteers at the Pet Food Bank of the .
