Monrovia Has A New Spokesperson

Former city spokesman Dan Bell left Monrovia to follow his old boss to Glendale and his in-house replacement was recently named.

Monrovia's former city spokesman Dan Bell resigned from the city last week to take a job in Glendale and his position is being filled by a member of the city's economic development team.

Jennifer McLain, a project coordinator with the city's economic development department, will take over official spokesperson duties, she told Patch in an email.

McLain is a former reporter for the San Gabriel Valley Tribune and began as an intern with the city in 2010. She will serve as the "liaison to press during breaking news, events, requests from media," according to a city document. Alexis Newell, the city's marketing department will handle social media for the city.

Bell is following former Monrovia City Manager Scott Ochoa to Glendale, according to McLain.
