Monrovia Library Launching Pilot Jobs Program

The Monrovia Public Library will be launching a new internet tool called Job Scout next month.

From the Monrovia city manager's weekly report:

The Monrovia Public Library is piloting a new job resource called Job Scout through October, 2013. Currently in beta testing, Job Scout is digital literacy tools that helps users gain the internet skills necessary to look for a job in today’s market. This resource was built in cooperation with the California State Library.

With 1 in 5 people in the United States lacking the necessary internet skills needed to find a job in today’s marketplace, Job Scout uses social game design to engage users in self-paced, online activities that focus on internet competencies applied in a real life context.
