UPDATE: Monrovia Power Outage Leaves 5,800 Without Electricity

Several different outages around the city have left more than 5,800 Monrovia residents without power, according to the Southern California Edison website.

Update (6:02 p.m.): Most residents in Monrovia have had their power restored, according to the SCE website. Fewer than 200 residents remain without power (including this editor!), the site says.

Separate power outages throughout the city have knocked out electricity for more than 5,800 Monrovia customers, according to the Southern California Edison website.

The SCE Outage Center map shows four separate power outages throughout Monrovia, totalling 5,825 customers affected. Outages have also been reported in Arcadia, bringing the total number of customers without electricity to 7,400.

"The crews are on site," SCE spokesman Michael Padian told Patch. "They're still investigating and they don't have a cause yet."
