Monrovia's New Councilman: Larry Spicer

The Monrovia City Council voted 3-1 Tuesday to appoint the planning commission vice-chair to fill Councilman Clarence Shaw's seat temporarily.

Monrovia has a new councilman, at least until next summer.

Larry Spicer, the vice chair of the city's planning commission, was appointed to fill Councilman Clarence Shaw's seat on the Tuesday. The council voted 3-1 to appoint Spicer, with Councilman Tom Adams voting against the appointment.

Shaw is currently and left for a one-year tour in July. Spicer will take his seat on the council until Shaw returns, likely sometime in the summer of 2012.
