Photos: Film Shoot Brings Old Town Monrovia Back to the '80s

The shooting of a television pilot closed down Myrtle Avenue Monday for an apparently '80s-themed show starring Adam Goldberg.

Monrovia's Old Town was bustling with activity Monday as a film crew shot a televsion pilot along Myrtle Avenue that featured classic cars and actors dressed in '80s garb.

The shoot was for an untitled television pilot starring Adam Goldberg, according to city spokeswoman Jennifer McLain. Actor Jeff Garlin of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" fame could also be seen in scenes being filmed at the intersection of Lime Avenue and Myrtle.

Deadline.com reported in December that ABC ordered a pilot for an 80s family comedy based on Goldberg's life.

"It is a family comedy set in the '80s that centers on an in-your-face mother and hot-tempered father who love their three eccentric kids so much, they can’t bear to see them grow up," according to Deadline.

The crew will pay the Monrovia Old Town Advisory Board a $6,000 "impact fee" and plans to wrap everything up by 10 p.m., McLain said.
