Possible Tax Relief for Wind Storm Damage

Property owners whose structures sustained damage of $10,000 or more may be eligible for temporary property tax relief, according to the Los Angeles County Office of the Assessor.

Widespread damage occurred throughout Monrovia during , but there could be something of a silver lining for property owners who suffered damage to their structures.

Los Angeles County Assessor John R. Noguez announced on the county website that, "structures sustaining damage of $10,000 or more may qualify for temporary property tax relief under calamity-related laws" and encouraged property owners to contact the Assessor's Office regarding questions or concerns.

An Application for Reassessment of Property Damaged or Destroyed by Misfortune or Calamity should be submitted within one year of the date of damage.
