Reminder: One Day Closure Today for California Ave and Duarte Road Intersection

Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension Construction Authority will close the intersection of California Avenue and Duarte Road today as part of ongoing construction.

The closure is expected to be just for the day, with it fully open to traffic on Tuesday, officials said. Crews need to close the intersection to thru-traffic to finish the final construction activities at the location, officials said.

The construction is part of the 11.5-mile Metro Gold Line Foothill Extension light rail project.

"Following this one-day closure, the grade crossing work at California Ave will be complete, and both streets will fully re-open to thru-traffic in all directions," Foothill Extension Authority officials wrote in a construction notice. 

The closure will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather permitting. Detour routes will be provided with signage posted for motorists.
