Take a look at the now-complete Gold Line bridge across the 210 Freeway.

Gold Line Construction Authority officials unveiled the new bridge across the 210 Freeway in Arcadia on Wednesday. The media got a special sneak preview of the bridge, while the public will be invited to a ceremony Saturday at 10 a.m. at Newcastle Park at 101 W. Colorado Blvd. in Arcadia.

Yes, isn't it great, a new bridge was built where before a perfectly good rail bridge stood.

PaulC This is what is killing America.....graft..pork barrel ....Looks like a pretty expensive bridge to repair if a semi plows into one of those colomns...b

They built a new bridge because the old bridge was structurally unsafe after the northridge earthquake.

They built the bridge so that it would be secure from something like that and from earthquakes and so it could hold trains that ride over it. Also almost all of the money came from Measure R. The LA county 1/2 cent sales tax. Probably only a little came from federal funds.
