Assemblyman Donnelly To Monrovia: Who? (Blog)

Monrovia's State rep ignores a random guy with a blog.

Just a quick post to let you (and more importantly, readers from his new district) know about the kiss-off attitude Assemblyman Tim Donnelly has adopted towards Monrovia.

I've been having a problem with the State bureaucracy for about three weeks.  Two weeks ago I left a phone message for the Assemblyman's Sacramento office. I made the mistake of thinking they might still be at work at 2:30 on a Friday. Silly me. Anyway, I got no response or acknowledgement.

A subsequent message (or was it two) to his district office also was a waste of breath.

I've also emailed through his official Web site's email dialogue box.

Yet, no reply.  Interestingly, his email for is primarily focused on supporting or opposing taxes.  Actually helping constituents is... ppfffffffftttt.

Anyway, I'm a life-long, Conservative GOPer.  But, while I can respect pretty much anyone I profoundly disagree with (see my wife, ex-Barbara Boxer staffer), I have zero tolerance for public "servants" who don't have time for the people they allegedly serve.

Memo to Assemblyman Donnelly:  Be careful who you ignore. He might just blog about it.  I would have inquired as to why my inquiries were ignored, but I didn't think anyone would answer the phone.

P.S. Comments including jokes about losing track of his gun and his constituents are highly encouraged!

I'm am not aware of ever having been ignored by Mr. Donnelly nor his office. I continue to support and vote for him because he DOES respond to my inquiries. Case in point; I recently raised a concern that over three days in a row I counted 10-11 con (chem) trails in the sky. After seeing a friends post and similar concern in Florida, I wanted to know if he had any information on this. Mr. Donnelly certainly has more important things to worry about, but he did respond briefly to me. I really appreciated that. "Like" Mr Donnelly on Facebook as he works hard to keep his constituents updated.

Watch your Assembly in action. Tim Donnelly never passes up an opportunity to defend the people and the constitution. He is easily the most outspoken person in the room. http://calchannel.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?view_id=7&clip_id=686 forward to 2:30 to see Donnelly object to Ca paying more than $1 million to ban the use of hounds for hunting bears and bobcats. While the rest of the assembly was happy to finally be home after the last day of session, Donnelly was back at capital asking Gov Brown to give us the freedom to make our own health care decisions. http://vimeo.com/50444775#at=0

Ok, I was going to stay out of this one, but one has to call Bull (you know what) where it is due. Am I the only one to notice that Jen, Sara and Mary Kay have never ever -even once commented on Patch before? Furthermore, Ms. McCay seems to only have since yesterday found her voice on Patch. Here we have 4 stark, non-quipy, snark free, fully formulated responses (a very rare occurrence indeed) to Mr Perry's post singing Donelly's praises, from 4 individuals who up until this posting have never had a presence in this forum. I'll ask, has anyone ever heard of these people or interacted with them in the community? All 4 of them are Monrovia Patchers, supposedly, so someone must recognize them, right? If not, I'm calling Malarkey! Someone in Donnelly's office just might be surreptitiously burning the midnight oil here.

NWT, Tim Donnelly posted the link to this blog on his personal facebook and I decided to comment here and share my experience because it is the opposite of this blogger. I am a RN and mother of 3 who became involved last session in opposing a bill that worked it's way through the legislature. I contacted every assemblymember's and state senator's office to share my views about this bill. The vast majority of offices have never responded to me in any way. There are a few legislators that really stood out and Tim Donnelly is one of them. He is actually the only legislator that has ever replied directly to me and not just through his staff. (that was via facebook and not through his office) His efforts to oppose this bill went above and beyond any of the other members. In addition to voting no on the bill, he spoke out on the floor, wrote a letter to the governor and came back up to Sacramento after the session was over to attend and speak at a rally. He did everything he could to help us and he is the only legislator who did this. I don't live in Tim Donnelly's district and I can't vote for him, but after my experiences this last session I am a big supporter. I don't agree with him on all issues, but on the areas of mutual concern he is working the hardest to represent me. My own representatives either didn't respond to my concerns at all or directed me to their staff and I never had the opportunity to talk with my representatives directly.

Update: Having fully captured the attention of Assemblyman Donnelly's staff, I have been able to get my issue resolved with the State. Once they were on the case, things went quite smoothly and quickly. And for that I say, "Thanks!"
