Assemblyman Holden Names Kyle McClure 'All Star Teacher'

McClure teaches science at Clifton Middle School in Monrovia.

Assemblyman Chris Holden has picked a Monrovia educator as his "All Star Teacher" for 2013.

The following is a news release regarding science teacher Kyle McClure's recognition.

Students in Kyle McClure’s science classes can often be heard singing or clapping or creating fun stories with silly characters.  It’s how he keeps their 12-year-old brains engaged.

Kyle McClure’s devotion to his students and teaching is why Assemblymember Chris Holden (D-Pasadena) has selected the Monrovia middle school teacher as his “All Star Teacher” for 2013.  McClure was recognized (Monday) at a special ceremony in Sacramento sponsored by StudentsFirst.

“Helping a child find his or her place in the world is an important part of the education process and Kyle McClure is changing lives every day,” said Assemblymember Holden.  “He creates a stimulating learning environment in his classroom that makes these young people want to learn more.  I am honored to recognize him for his hard work and devotion to education.”

Kyle McClure was chosen for his ability to engage students in his life science and physical science classes at Clifton Middle School, inspiring them to learn while having them approach learning in a different way.

“As a teacher, my goal is to create a learning environment that is safe and stimulating. I want my students to know what is expected of them, and to become addicted to academic success,” explained McClure.
