Baseball Playoffs: Wildcats Win in Walk-Off

The Wilcats took advantage of two costly errors from Jurupa Valley Friday in the 1-0 win.

Two critical errors from Jurupa Valley in the bottom of the 7th inning proved to be the decisive plays in a 1-0 walk-off victory for the Wildcats in the third round of the CIF-SS Division 4 playoffs.

After a dropped pop fly with one out that allowed third baseman Nick Carino to reach second base, pinch runner Eric Cox moved to third after a sacrifice bunt.

Infielder Justin Jones then hit a hard grounder to the left side--right at the Jurupa Valley third baseman. But the ball eluded him, and by the time he recovered and threw over to first, Cox scored and Carino was safe on a head-first slide.
