The Wildcats' thumping 11-1 win pushed them into a first-place tie with the La Cañada High Spartans, who beat Temple City on Tuesday, the Pasadena Star- News reported

Monrovia co-head coach Brad Blackmore told the newspaper, "It was needed. We came out of the gate and we just looked like a different offensive team today. We looked how we did two or three weeks ago,'' the paper reported.
