Citrus College Graduates Record Number of Students

Citrus College celebrated a record year during its 96th commencement ceremony.

s class of 2012 had much to be proud about during its commencement ceremony Saturday morning at Citrus College stadium, according to Superintendent Dr. Geraldine Perri.

Citrus College awarded 1,332 associate degrees to 1,066 students, the largest graduating class in the history of Citrus College. The 480 graduates in attendence Saturday also was also the largest number of graduates participating in the commencement ceremony.

Perri also told the crowd gathered in the stands that 169 students graduated with high and highest honors.

"Graduates, your impressive outcomes affirmed, that Citrus College is an outstanding institution with quality academic programs ans support services," Perri the graduates.

The graduates ranged from the youngest at 18 years old, to the oldest graduate at 72 years old.

Of the degrees awarded this year, 58 percent went to women. The top degree major at Citrus College this year was social and behavioral sciences, followed by biology, science and mathematics, and business.
