Monrovia defensive tackle Ellis McCarthy keeps making national headlines, and ESPN Los Angeles added to the hype Wednesday by calling him the best recruit at his position on the west coast.
McCarthy, who , has scholarship offers from some of the country's top collegiate football programs, including USC and Florida. ESPN reports that McCarthy will be back in action for Friday's game against West Covina South Hills.
McCarthy is ranked as the southland's #2 recruit overall behind Kyle Murphy of San Clemente, according to ESPN.
