Yoga for Healing Day Retreat
What does it mean to heal, and how can Yoga help?
First, it’s important to realize that all health issues - whether they are an actual illness or an injury - have a mental and emotional component. That is to say that dis-ease (including that ankle you sprained when you were pushing a little to hard) is an outward manifestation of an inner imbalance. With this in mind, it is a good idea to stay tuned to our inner, as well as our outer realities and find ways to nurture our entire beings - body, mind, and spirit.
Up at the beautiful and serene natural setting of Monrovia Canyon Park, we'll spend and entire day doing just that. The morning's practice will be focused on understanding and balancing the Chakras -- our seven major energy points in the body. After a catered lunch and a hike to the waterfall (or free time, if you prefer), we'll practice some healing chants and Mudras (powerful, energetic hand gestures), as well as positive affirmations. And finally, we'll enjoy an almost hour-long Yoga Nidra -- a guided "yogic sleep" for complete and total rejuvenation and letting go.
