McCarthy Set to Announce College Choice

Monrovia star defensive tackle Ellis McCarthy is expected to announce which school he will play for next year during Saturday's Army Bowl.

After months of speculation, Monrovia standout defensive tackle Ellis McCarthy is expected to announce which college he will attend next year after playing in a nationally televised showcase game in Texas on Saturday.

McCarthy has narrowed his choices to USC and Cal, according to ESPN. He is expected to join other top recruits in announcing his school choice on national television during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, TX, according to ESPN.

McCarthy has been named at his position and has offers from some of the nation's top football programs, including USC, Cal, Florida and Michigan.

The U.S. Army All-America Bowl game bills itself as the nation’s "premier high school football game" and "preeminent launching pad for America’s future college and NFL stars." It is held at the Alamobowl in San Antonio, TX, on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 and will be televised on NBC.
