A victory over Temple City has third place Wildcats improving their chances for a CIF appearance.

A surprise 5-3 win over top league team Temple City put Monrovia High School’s softball team in contention for a CIF -Southern Section playoff berth.

The Wildcats are sitting in third place with a 6-5 league record, but a trip to the playoffs would depend on a critical win, according to a story in the Pasadena Star News.

Monrovia would need to beat Temple City again on Thursday to clinch third place.
