UPDATE: Wildcat Victory Parade Postponed

The school board was hoping to hold the parade Tuesday, but rain forecasts forced a postponement of the celebration.

A planned parade Tuesday to celebrate the football team's was officially postponed Monday due to weather, a district official said.

School Board President Ed Gililland said the district was planning to hold the parade Tuesday night along the --from MHS to Myrtle to --but had to cancel because of the chance of further showers.

"They have decided they don't want to risk the rain," Gililland said.

Gililland said the district had planned to postpone the parade to Jan. 5, but standout defensive tackle . Another possible date is Jan. 17, Gililland said, adding that the district will likely make a final decision in the next few days.
