PHOTOS: Rio Hondo League Finals in Track and Field

Top athletes from local San Gabriel Valley schools advance to CIF Championship after competing in league finals at South Pasadena High School.

Solari Stadium was once again the scene of this year' s Rio Hondo League championships.

Top finishers in track and field events from Monrovia, La Canada, South Pasadena, Temple City, San Marino and Blair will advance to the CIF championships.

It was the end of the Frosh-Soph season, with many returning next year.

The well-attended meet was well-executed and produced some excellent marks; South Pasadena Coaches PJ Hernandez and CB Richards again ran a superb meet that went right on schedule.

Thanks Henk for the wonderful photos. Unable to attend the meets to see these determine, dedicated and talented young athletes perform. These photos speak for themselves. I really appreciate seeing the photos or videos when ever possible and you always do a great job. Kudos to all.

Your picture of the boys 800 states that Charlie Carnevale was the winner. The picture is of Max Armenta. Did Max or Charlie win?

For the Varsity 800 meters boys, Max Armenta was the winner, followed by Khalil Simaan, second place and Paul Messana for third place. http://dyestat.rise.espn.go.com/meetresults.jsp?meetID=53756
