Softball Playoffs: Monrovia Falls to Beaumont 4-0

The Ladycats couldn't get their offense going in the CIF-SS Division 5 playoff game against Beaumont.

The Monrovia High School softball team was shut out by Beaumont High School Thursday in a third round CIF-SS Division 5 playoff game with a spot in the semifinals at stake.

Beaumont pitcher Alyssa Fuimaono stifled the Ladycats all afternoon in a complete game shutout to advance to the fourth round. Monrovia pitcher Adrienne Guerra also threw a complete game, but surrendered four runs in the process.

The closest MHS came to scoring was in the third inning when Guerra led off with a single and center fielder Elise McCarthy reached on a bunt single. But then Fuimaono retired the next three batters to get out of the jam.
