Check Out Monrovia's 2011 Football Schedule

Wildcats open up 2010 title defense against Glendora on Sept. 9.

It's never too late to start talking football, especially when you're talking about the Monrovia Wildcats. The Pasadena Star-News' Aram Tolegian has the 2011 Wildcats' schedule up on his blog, and the local football expert likes how coach Ryan Maddox has tailored his non-league schedule for the Wildcats' title defense.

Because as past results have indicated, the Rio Hondo League doesn't offer much resistance for the 'Cats. Monrovia has yet to lose a league game under Maddox, and they've won 17 in a row dating back to a mid-season loss to Blair back in 2007.

Monrovia opens the season with a tough home date against Glendora, who knocked off the Wildcats, 21-7, in the 'Cats' season-opener last year. The Wildcats also have a chance to avenge their other loss from last year with a Week 3 home contest against San Dimas.

San Dimas eked out a 35-34 win over Monrovia in 2010, and the Saints famously beat the Wildcats in the 2009 CIF-Southern Section Mid-Valley Division title game.
