Additionally, at this workshop, you will be able to learn about Energy Upgrade California, an unprecedented partnership of the County of Los Angeles, the California Energy Commission (CEC), the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), investor-owned and municipal utilities, local governments, and other stakeholders to promote a uniform, statewide energy efficiency program. The Energy Upgrade California in LA County program provides rebates and incentives to LA County homeowners who make energy-saving home improvements.  Los Angeles County was one of the first counties in California to roll out with program.  It began in March 2011, providing incentives of up to $4,500.  Now, for a limited time, homeowners can receive incentives of up to $8,000: $4,000 from their utility company and $4,000 provided by LA County. The rebates are based on energy savings achieved and the County is now doubling the utility rebates at all levels, ranging from $1,000 for 10 percent savings all the way up to $4,000 for a 40% reduction in energy use.  Energy Upgrade home improvements that qualify for rebates and incentives include insulation, sealing, HVAC upgrades, energy-efficient windows, tankless water heaters and other “fixed” improvements.
