In the late summer or fall of 1996, I was driving down Huntington Boulevard in Monrovia and saw a young woman driving a new white Mustang convertible with a license plate to the effect of "Olympic Gold." I pulled up next to her at a light and asked her if she'd won a gold medal. She said she had. I asked her what it was for and she said, "Shooting." "Cool," I said as the light changed.
