Monrovia Youth Baseball Team Wins Regional Championship
The Monrovia Youth Baseball League's Shetland division wins it's first title in a decade.
The Monrovia Youth Baseball League's Shetland division team won the East Region Section 2 championships last week, the first time the team has claimed the title in the last 10 years.
The team of 5 and 6-year-olds defeated Whittier Royal 17-12 in a home game on July 2, according to the MYBL Facebook page.
"Taking the banner is sweet...winning it at home, priceless!," the page states. "Well done Shetland!!!!"
The kids will advance to super regionals on July 11 and will take on West Covina.
