Monrovia's Ellis McCarthy No. 4 Recruit in CA, Says 247Sports

247Sports.com ranks Wildcat DT as 28th best prospect in the nation.

This just in: Monrovia defensive tackle Ellis McCarthy is kinda a hot commodity in the recruiting world.

Wait … everyone already knew that. Though it's not news to see McCarthy placed high on someone's recruiting rankings, 247Sports.com just released its updated top 100 for the Class of 2012 and McCarthy checks in at No. 28.

247Sports also views McCarthy, who will participate in next January's U.S. Army All-American Bowl, as the fourth best senior in the state of California, and the fourth best player in the nation at his position.

McCarthy has yet to reveal a top five (or even a top 10) list of schools he's considering, and the 6-foot-5, practically every major program from coast to coast covets the 6-foot-5, 315-pound behemoth.

Monrovia begins fall camp next Monday, and Patch will be there every step of the way as the Wildcats defend their first-ever CIF-Southern Section Mid-Valley Division championship.
