Monrovia's Ellis McCarthy Talks Upcoming Season, College Plans (video)

McCarthy's top schools include USC, Cal, Washington, Oregon, UCLA and Florida.

Even in just a t-shirt and athletic shorts, Monrovia defensive tackle Ellis McCarthy casts an imposing figure.

At a towering 6-foot-5, 311 pounds, he looks more like someone who should be entering his third or fourth year in college instead of his senior year at the high school level. But for one more year McCarthy will terrorize opposing offensive lines across the Southland.

McCarthy is the anchor of a Wildcat defensive unit that should be one of the most dominant in the CIF-Southern Section Mid-Valley Division. No other team possesses a player with McCarthy's strength and quickness, and any team that faces the Wildcats will have to make containing McCarthy its No. 1 priority.
