The oft-confused Miss America and Miss USA pageants are two distinct pageants and put on by different organizations: this one and this one. So while Monrovia's still has a shot at winning Miss California 2012 (and later Miss America 2013), the winner of the Miss California USA pageant competed in Sunday's Miss USA pageant. Got it?
The Miss California 2012 pageant is scheduled for June 26-30 in Fresno.
