has the honor of having a state champion team amongst its students body. The Monrovia High School SkillsUSA Entrepreneurship team is going to SKillsUSA national competition in Kansas City, Missouri.
The Monrovia High School Entrepreneurship team won gold medals at the SkillsUSA state level competition on April 15, beating the best entrepreneur teams in the state of California. The competition consisted of a 10 minute presentation of a business plan on the teams venture idea and a 10 minute question and answering session by judges who are professional entrepreneurs.
Monrovia High's young entrepreneurs entered the competition with their business plan for their venture that will benefit businesses of all sizes by promoting coupons, deals, and free give aways while targeting consumers at a more personal level. The young entrepreneurs are very excited and honored to have the opportunity to represent California on a national level, but are in need of funds to make the trip to Missouri.
The team is currently requesting donations from local businesses as well as local organizations, and will be hosting a variety of fundraisers on and off the school campus. The team is is heading out on June 23 and will be staying at their designated hotel in Kansas City until the 28th. This is a very exciting time for the team, school, and community. Wish them luck!
