Kings & Queens take top spot at Regional Robotics Championship.

This Saturday, the Kings & Queens from Monrovia High School were awarded the Inspire Award at the LA FTC Regional Robotics Championship held at Monrovia High School. This award earns the Kings & Queens the distinction of being the top robotics team in the LA region. As the top ranked LA team they lead the seven other LA regional qualifiers to the Western Super Regional in Sacramento on March 20th. At the Western Super Regional which encompasses the 13 western states they will vie for a spot at the World Championship which will be held at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, Missouri on April 23rd.

In addition, to the Kings & Queens royal achievement the other MHS robotics teams of R.E.D., Suit Bots and Thavma also performed extremely well. R.E.D. and Suit Bots both made it to the tournament's divisional finals and Thavma was nominated for the Judge's Award given to the tournaments top rookie team. R.E.D. was named as an alternate advancing to the Western Super Regional if teams drop out.

The MHS Robotics Program is made up 32 students split up into 4 teams: RED, Suit Bots, Kings & Queens and Thavma. Each team has its own name and identity and builds, designs and competes its own robot in the First Tech Challenge .
