Monrovia Man Pleads No Contest to Making False Bomb Report

Gerardo Cortez, 25, pleaded not guilty to making bomb threats to a middle school, post office and the Pasadena Department of Public Health.

A Monrovia man pleaded no contest to making a false bomb report to an agency or business Wednesday, according to a story in the Pasadena Star News.

Gerardo Cortez, 25, previously pleaded not guilty in October for making bomb threats against Washington Middle School, a post office and the Pasadena Department of Public Health.

The middle school was evacuated following the Oct. 24 bomb threat, as was the health department after receiving the threat on Oct. 25.

The District Attorney's Office said Cortez was charged with three counts of making a false bomb report, three counts of making criminal threats, and one count of attempting to make a criminal threat. All counts are considered felonies.
